The Writer of Film 'Dogs in Pocketbooks' Is Backtracking over Statements
'Dogs in Pocketbooks' Screenwriter Withdraws Lindsay Lohan Comment

The writer/producer of upcoming film "" is backtracking over statements he made suggesting the movie is based on the colorful life of - after the actress' mother threatened to take legal action.

Lydia Hearst and Joan Collins have signed up for roles in the gritty drama, about a troubled young star making her way in Hollywood. Screenwriter Charles Casillo riled Lohan's parents after admitting Hearst's part is "obviously based on Lindsay Lohan" earlier this week.

He told the New York Post, "(The movie) is in no way mean-spirited towards Lindsay. It's the kind of thing she has spoofed about herself in the past. It's more of a satire about the crazy people around her." But the writer/producer is rethinking his pitch after the "" star's mum Dina threatened legal action in a bid to scrap the movie.

Casillo tells TMZ.com his comments have been "totally blown out of proportion", and insists the character was inspired by several young starlets, including Lindsay, and , and Hollywood icons including and Jean Harlow.
