The opening of 's off-Broadway play "Blood From a Stone" has been pushed back six days to allow the stars of the show extra time to rehearse. The production was due to officially launch on January 6, but playwright Tommy Nohilly and director Scott Elliott have been forced to rework the script after recent previews of the comedy drama, about a troubled working class family in Connecticut, ran for over three hours.

"Blood From a Stone" will now open on January 12 at the Acorn Theatre, according to the New York Times. It won't be the "Training Day" star's first foray onto the New York stage - he's previously earned a Tony Award nomination for his starring role in a 2006 production of Tom Stoppard's "The Coast of Utopia", and he received further praise for his performance in Shakespeare play "The Winter's Tale" last year.
